We invite you to learn how Georgetown Continuing Studies English (CSE), the university's part-time English as a Second Language (ESL) program, helps adult learners improve their English fluency to achieve career and educational goals.

Our night and weekend classes are scheduled to accommodate your busy schedule and are taught by dedicated faculty on our historic main campus. We offer classes that can help you:

Increase your conversational English fluency:
Integrated Communication Skills II, III & IV *
Communicative Grammar *

Communicate more effectively in business settings: 
Business Communications I, II & III *
Business Writing *

Prepare for the iBT-TOEFL test: 
iBT-TOEFL Test Prep I, II & III *

Program Highlights: 

  • All teaching faculty have a master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
  • Weeknight (7-9pm) and Saturday (9am-1pm) courses
  • Free shuttle buses and $4 flat rate student parking available
  • Classes are limited to 18 students to ensure each student receives personalized instruction
  • Summer students receive 3.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for each successfully completed (eight-week) class
  • For au pairs and other J-1 visa holders: CEUs count toward the U.S. State Department's educational study requirement
