Exit, Pursued by a Bear

Village C, Village C Theatre 37th and O St., N.W., Washington

Written by Lauren Gunderson
Directed by Bailey Premeaux (COL '19)
Produced by Cristin Crowley (MSB ’20)

Nan Carter, no relation to Jimmy, decides to take matters into her own hands when her relationship with her husband, Kyle, becomes abusive. Aided by her emotional and literal cheerleader Simon, along with Sweetheart the stripper, Nan is able to confront the traumas of her past and attempt to reconcile herself with her future. Lauren Gunderson’s Exit, Pursued by a Bear walks the line between comedy and tragedy, and explores how art can be used to heal.
