Fiction Reading: The Guy We Didn't Invite to the Orgy

Join us as we celebrate the publication of faculty member David Ebenbach's new collection of short stories, The Guy We Didn't Invite to the Orgy and other stories. These stories—funny, surprising, true to life—are about people choosing whether to go it alone in the world or try to find a place for themselves, whatever it takes. They travel across the world to meet new people; they join cults and awkward social clubs; they stumble through strange workplaces. There are belly dancing troupes and patriotic theme parks, barber shops and orgies. There’s a whole world of people—befuddling, a little scary, and riding on hope. Professor of the Practice in Georgetown University's Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship, Ebenbach is also the author of two books of short stories—Between Camelots(University of Pittsburgh Press, 2005), and Into the Wilderness (Washington Writers’ Publishing House, 2012)—a chapbook of poetry entitled Autogeography (Finishing Line Press, 2013), and a non-fiction guide to creativity called The Artist’s Torah (Cascade Books, 2012).
