Friday Music Series — Istanbul 2018: A Concert of Music from Turkey by David's Harp

This Philadelphia-based ensemble, led by Joseph Alpar, presents a concert showcasing the music of contemporary Istanbul. With a program of driving folk music, plaintive and haunting ballads about love and betrayal, rousing and spirited dance tunes, and gritty songs of conflict and the struggles of urban life, David's Harp creates a soundscape that tells the story of this extraordinary city and its people. The Georgetown University Friday Music Series features acclaimed artists in free concerts at 1:15 p.m. on select Fridays.
