RESCHEDULED: Friday Music Series: Richard Giarusso, baritone & Andrew Jonathan Welch, piano

Please note: This event was rescheduled from its original Oct. 4 date.

Praised by The Washington Post for his “expressive and perfectly controlled voice,” Giarusso leads the Georgetown Chorale and Voce Chamber Singers, and is Chair of the Department of Musicology at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. Welch is the keyboard artist and assistant conductor for the Georgetown Chorale, and serves as artistic director of the JFF Singers and as Director of Music Ministry at historic Dumbarton United Methodist Church in Georgetown. Their program includes Schubert and Beethoven lieder. The Georgetown University Music Program’s Friday Music Series features acclaimed artists in free concerts on Friday afternoons now at 12:30 p.m. in McNeir Hall, and integrated into a new undergraduate course (MUSC 200) titled Live Music in Context. Each concert will be followed by a Q&A with the performers.
