Graduate School Commencement Ceremony 2020
FRIDAY, MAY 15, 2020 9:00 a.m.
The Graduate School Commencement Ceremony is a festive and colorful event at which all Doctoral and Master's students from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (including Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) programs) walk across the stage and are awarded their diplomas by the Graduate Dean and the President of the University.
It takes place annually in mid-May. Participation in the Graduate School Commencement Ceremony is limited to those who have been awarded degrees between July and May of the current academic year.
Some schools, departments, and programs also have other ceremonies and receptions following this event.
Note: The Doctoral Hooding Ceremony takes place on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. in Healy Hall, 3rd Floor, inside Gaston Hall.
IN THE EVENT OF RAIN: The Ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. in McDonough Arena. Afterwards: Arts & Sciences graduates will pick up their diplomas in the Healy Family Student Center (Great Hall). Biomedical Graduate Students will recess to the Leavy Center Ballroom for a reception and diploma pickup.
[Please note: Other schools at Georgetown University (MSB, SFS, McCourt, SCS) have their own Commencement Ceremonies at different times and do not participate in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences Commencement Ceremony).
