Manager as a Coach- How to lead others from behind
 Is your team performing at the highest level possible? Do you know exactly how to increase performance for every individual on your team? Most likely your answer is “No” and that is perfectly acceptable. This course will help you understand the power of curiosity and non-judgmental interest in the issues that face your team. Managers who use coaching techniques are more successful in the long run because they learn how to help employees help themselves. Coaching also unleashes the creativity engagement and motivation of your employees with simple yet powerful techniques.
 This workshop is focused on being applicable in the workplace. Participants will identify past, present, and future coaching conversations with a focus on participating the skills to become a better coach.

List the benefits of coaching

Identify the different types of listings

Develop a list of powerful questions

Move to a focus on strengths

Identify how acknowledgement improves motivation

Use the GROW model as a structure for coaching sessions

Agenda

Coaching and Mentoring- When is each appropriate?
Listening- What are the major ways that we listen? Which style is best for coaching and how can I implement this?
Asking- What types of questions are best in coaching? Which questions can I start using immediately?
Strengths- How does a focus on a person’s strength’s offer them an advantage? How do I help others leverage their strengths?
Acknowledgement- What can I do to acknowledge progress? What are the benefits of recognizing progress?
GROW- How can I implement a simple model to use in my coaching sessions?
Wrap Up- What was most useful to me? What am I going to do differently based on what I learned today?

*There is a $90 materials and facilitation fee for this event which will be charged directly to the registrant's cost center.  A Workshop fee will be incurred for all registration not canceled at least 72 hours before workshop.
