Comedian, writer, actor, and Georgetown University alumnus Mike Birbiglia, best known for his 2009 hit show 'Sleepwalk With Me' which was adapted into a feature film and won a 2012 audience award at the Sundance Film Festival, brings an unplugged version of his latest Off-Broadway hit, "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend" (2011), to his alma mater for five shows only. In the show, which the New York Times called "ridiculously enjoyable," Mike shares a lifetime of romantic blunders and miscues that most adults would spend a lifetime trying to forget. On this painfully honest journey, Birbiglia struggles to find reason in an area where it may be impossible to find love.
During its New York run, the show won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show and was named a "Critics' Pick" by The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Time Out New York. Time magazine called the show's finale "possibly the best 15-minute stretch of playwriting" all season. Mike has starred in three Comedy Central Specials, released three hit CDs for Comedy Central Records -- one of which was named one of the "Best Comedy Albums of the Decade" by The Onion AV Club -- and has made regular appearances on Public Radio International's "This American Life."
