Opening Reception: Lynn Cazabon's "Uncultivated"
Thursday, January 31 at 5:00pm to 7:00pm
Edmund A. Walsh Memorial, Spagnuolo Art Gallery 1221 36th St., N.W., Washington
Join us for the opening reception of Lynn Cazabon's "Uncultivated" exhibition, on view in the Spagnuolo Art Gallery and Regents Hall from January 23 - April 14, 2013.
Refreshments will be served, and special musical guest Angel Gil-Ordóñez from the Music department will perform.
Cazabon uses photography and Google Maps to present a public art project that draws attention to vegetation in neglected urban areas. Her photographic portraits of wild plants are presented on a larger than life scale to deepen awareness to our immediate environment. Each photo includes a QR code that leads viewers to a webpage for more detailed information. The exhibition is co-sponsored by Georgetown University’s Center for the Environment.
