Plaza Hoya: Fiestas de mi Pueblo (Hoya Square: Celebrations of my Town)

Ballet Folklórico Mexicano de Georgetown
Spring Showcase

Directed by Carmen Mata (COL’20) and Dulce Perez Briones (COL’20)

Festivals heralding the arrival of spring have long been a tradition in Mexico. In small towns, populous modern cities, and even famous archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza, locals and visitors alike gather together to celebrate this season of renewal with colorful parades and traditional food, music, and dance. As a group that strives to preserve and share these traditions, BFMG asks all members of the diverse and exciting DC community to join in the celebration! At Gaston Hall guests will experience a combination of traditional dances from four Mexican states that embody the diversity of this wonderful country. Join us after this family-friendly show for a reception filled with delicious and authentic foods.
