Practicing Bike Safety
Wednesday, June 27 at 4:45pm to 6:00pm
Healy Hall 37th and O St., N.W., Washington
A follow-up to 'Riding Safely in Traffic,' this class takes us out of the classroom and onto the roads to demonstrate skills learned. We will start by working on a few drills(starting and stopping, scanning, and signaling) and then head out onto the streets of Georgetown to demonstrate safe biking habits. Helmets and bikes are required. You will also be asked to sign a liability waiver for the University. We will then hit the streets of Georgetown as a group. Participants are expected to both give and receive feedback about their 'bicycle driving.' At the conclusion of the class, you should be able to safely navigate the roads and understand the techniques to avoid 90% of crashes.
