Test of HOYAlert & Campus Alert System

Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 12:55pm to 12:57pm

This is a TEST. The alert will sound in a series of 30-45 second blasts, for a total of 2 minutes. In an actual emergency, the alert will sound for 15 minutes. The alert is intended to be heard outside, to signal people to go inside. You might not hear it inside. Building and Floor Marshals will alert occupants of their buildings of the need to stay inside. Broadcast e-mails and voicemails will be used to relay the same message. Updates will be provided on the University website at www.georgetown.edu. Messages will also be sent via text message, non-GU phone, and non-GU email to people enrolled in the emergency notification system. (If you are not enrolled, go to Access+.)
