Dr. Ludger Pries
Chair, Department of Sociology
Ruhr-Universität Bochum

Dr. Ludger Pries is Chair of the Department of Sociology at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Bochum, Germany. From 2015 through 2017 he holds the Humboldt Chair at the Colegio de México through a partnership with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). His body of research has delved into the sociology of work, organizations, and migration in a comparative perspective. He is the author of 14 books, over 60 scientific journal articles, and over 80 book chapters; and his latest publication is “Migration and Arriving: The Chances of Refugee Movement” (Campus Verlag, Frankfurt 2016).
