The Global Future of Security: A Conversation with Former Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel
Global security is at a crossroads. Historical challenges of terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and great power rivalry increasingly intersect with new concerns including environmental and cyber security. How should the United States and the international community respond to these and other security challenges in the years ahead? To what extent do they demand concerted global as well as regional and national approaches and solutions? How can Georgetown and other global universities make a positive contribution? Former Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will address these questions in conversation with professor Daniel Byman.
This event is part of a semester-long conversation on global security convened by Georgetown’s Global Futures Initiative.
