The Last Days of Judas Iscariot
Written by Stephen Adly Guirgis
Directed by Velani Dibba (SFS ‘17)
Produced by Bee Jaworski (COL ’17)

In present downtown Purgatory, an ambitious lawyer decides to appeal the case of Judas Iscariot and all eyes are on the stand. Pulitzer prize-winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis’ The Last Days of Judas Iscariot is both harrowing and uproariously funny as it examines one of the most controversial figures of Western history. With a swearing St. Monica and hilarious personal testimonies by the Apostles and Satan himself, Guirgis’ play is about humanity and the hope that each person has in doing what is right. A tale of pain, hope, betrayal and fate, Judas is a story of literal epic proportions. This production is offered in repertory with Black Theatre Ensemble's Hookman.
