CANCELED: Friday Music Series | Leah Claiborne, piano with Akilah Kidd, flute

Due to the COVID-19 crisis and out of concern for public health, all Georgetown University Department of Performing Arts events are canceled through the end of the spring 2020 semester, while academic courses continue online.


Claiborne, coordinator of Keyboard Studies at the University of the District of Columbia, performs this Women’s History Month concert featuring music by Black Female composers. 

"Phenomenal Women" program includes the following:

with Victoria Williams, soprano

"Meditations" by Irene Britton Smith ( 1907-1999)

"Billy’s Song" by Valerie Capers (1935-    )

"Fantasie Negre" by Florence Price (1888-1953)
